Welcome!

Welcome to apocalyptic_fic! My vision for the community is that we pick one scenario/disaster as the setting for our world. Other than that, I'm open (and even that can be subject to change).

All fandoms are welcome. TV, movies, books, whatever moves you. FPS, RPS, slash, het, gen, whatever. The interests I have listed for the community are only preliminary. I will do my best to add fandoms to the interest list as soon as fic from a given fandom is posted. Feel free to nudge me if don't do it quickly. You can also leave me suggestions in the comments section.

What would people like to see? Challenges, round robbins, open comment fic? A place to post fic but otherwise hands off?

Hi! Interests looks great for now. Profile looks good, though I'm presuming that once the type of activities and the 'verse has been chosen there will more info there, yes?

As for me, one thing I'd like to have the option of is people just posting one-off fic, separate from any of the challenges or round robins, etc.

I like the idea of challenges, though not necessarily weekly or even monthly. Perhaps we could start off with a 'morning after' challenge. Where are your characters, what's happening to them, etc, right after the disaster, whatever it turns out to be, hits?

Round robins are always fun. The question in a multi-fandom comm would be, of course, limiting the scope of it. Or not limiting it, but then it would encompass whatever fandom/characters the next person in line wanted to write about, storylines might never get completed. *g*

Comment fic are also fun, giving people the option of posting a little ficlet in the 'verse based around their favorite characters without feeling the pressure to write a book. *g*

I look forward to seeing all the apoca!verse ideas everyone comes up with!

Absolutely. I hope we see a lot of that.

I like that, too. Depending on the type of disaster it would be good to have one that's just before or during, too.

but then it would encompass whatever fandom/characters the next person in line wanted to write about, storylines might never get completed. *g*

Also true. Much to think about.

I just wanted to put in a vote for the hybrid approach.

Challenges are fine and such, but please encourage people to post fic at will as well. This will be a complex universe and fic may take a long time to complete, so people might be more willing to take on a more daunting task if they're not time constrained or prompt restricted.

I know I have bunnies to crossover Heroes, Numb3rs and SPN in Jericho's post-apocalyptic world, so hopefully they will work out for here as well.

As it is, I'd love to just have Jericho be the standard universe we all play in since it's got convenient canon, but I accept that we'll end up with whatever the voters want.

We will! I've had an idea that's been kicking around in my head for a few days but depending on the scenario that's chosen it may or may not be appropriate to post here.

By all means, feel free to post something in the other post that sets up the same or a similar world.
